How it all started
Spirit Life World Charities started years ago, when a young man in a mud floor hut in India submitted his life to Jesus.
It all started years ago, when a young, skinny 19 year old in a mud floor hut in the jungle had an encounter with Jesus.
Sam had grown up in poverty, never knowing what having a full stomach or warm bed felt like.
He was born deep in the jungles of Vellarada, Kerala, near the coastal city of Trivandrum, on a cow farm.
His father, who had been a Hindu Priest and Gunda fighter, had become a Christian just 4 years before he was born. After this, their family was ostracized by the village. His parents couldn’t get good jobs or make money.
They were left farming what little land they had from his Mother’s dowry, living in a hut Sam’s father had built with mud, sticks, and leaves with his own two hands,
Turning for the worst….
The orphanage life…
The situation didn’t get better. At the age of 4, Sam’s parents couldn’t make ends meet… they couldn’t feed him or his big 7-year-old sister.
Sam himself hadn’t even been weaned because of the family’s lack of food.
His parents felt they were out of options… either the kids would starve, they would go into slavery to get food, or… they could go to an orphanage.
Feeling there was no other way, Sam, only 4 and still drinking milk, and his sister, 7 years old, were both sent to an orphanage.
India was a new country, and there weren’t many regulations. There was abuse, beating of many of the kids, and still not enough food for everyone.
Because of the lack of government regulation, the orphanage was built into a shrimp factory on the ocean… no drainage or permits. When it rained, the water would flood the building, creep into the kids’ beds, and cause sicknesses.
Rat fever…
The toll of poverty….
When Sam was 11 years old, rat fever spread through the orphanage because of the lack of sanitation and the kids’ weakened immune systems.
Sam’s childhood best friend, Subin, and he were bound to a bed for weeks. A few days later, Subin died beside Sam.
The orphanage, knowing Sam had family and afraid he too would perish under their care, sent for Sam and his sister’s parents — still in poverty — to come hospitalize him or take him home.
Their parents hurried to the orphanage, and took Sam and his sister home, never to set foot there again.
Village life again,
Sam’s family didn’t have the resources to send him to a hospital. They feared the worst would happen. But thankfully, he slowly began to recover from home in the mud-floor hut.
After 7 years in the orphanage, the sickness that would have taken his life became his ticket to freedom.
But life still wasn’t much better.
Sam began attending public middle school with his sister. Mornings would be spent going to the village water well, drawing up water, and walking 25 heavy gallons of water 1.5 miles back on their heads and shoulders through the jungle to home.
Then came the walk to school and the studies,
Sam and his sister weren’t good in school. 7 years without a family in an abusive orphanage school took a toll. But it was the only highlight of the day.
Because after school, Sam and his sister would have to go to work to make ends meet at home. Sam, only 15, began working in construction with his dad mixing cement by hand.
Despite all of this, Sam became the first in his family to get a finished high school diploma.
Going home… to nothing…
The turning point…
When Sam was 19 years old, God revealed himself to him.
He saw a light appear in his room that began to speak… “Sam, you are for me; seek my Kingdom.”
He began to weep, staying in his room under the power of God for 5 full days. After this, to his family’s surprise, he came out of his room and told them he wanted to go to Bible school and become a missionary.
His whole family had struggled after entering faith in Jesus, but Sam willingly ran to serving God.
By God’s grace, he went much further than the high school diploma and completed his Doctorate in theological studies, studying in one of the hardest Bible schools in Asia.
From there on, he began traveling, ministering, and working as a missionary to northern India and Nepal.
This is where he met many of our missionary and charity partners.
The call at 19 years old…
How its going
Ever since then, we have been feeding thousands
After this, Pastor Sam got the call from God to go to the United States of America as a missionary. He then got married, settled down with his wife, Isabella, and their 1-year-old son Hananiah, and founded Spirit Life World Charities from the US.
We have had the privilege of feeding thousands of beautiful people and teaching hundreds of families how to support themselves, sharing the gospel along with daily needs.
We have seen hundreds come to the Lord, and thousands experience relief, rescuing children from potential slavery, starvation, and from entering orphanages in poverty.

What’s happening in America?
In addition to our Eastern World charity, Sam’s ministry has taken him to leadership roles in revival meetings in the states of Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, California, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Arizona, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and more.
Our main studio and offices are located in Houston TX. Gradually, we plan on eventually planting churches in the area and building our own main studio, and ministry office in Houston.
As an international outreach center, our Flame studios in the Houston TX, US, and Kerala, India, have been hosting international ministers for broadcasts and Live meetings, as well as numerous hungry hearts who want to experience God’s power and Love.
